About the Course

This 6-week Puppet Building Course (stretched over twelve weeks), will give you the solid skill base and understanding you need to design and fabricate your very own stop motion puppet! We will cover many aspects of puppet build including character design, armatures, creating facial movement/'expression kits', costume making and hair. A variety of techniques will be explored from illustration and painting to sculpting and sewing. Start dreaming up that character and let's make it a reality!

About the Instructor

Molly Grundy is a London based Designer, Fabricator and Arts Educator. Working in everything from film, fashion and costume to paper arts, puppet making and illustration. Molly has, in recent years, fallen head over heels with Stop Motion Animation. Building puppets and costumes for Montreal's "The Little Prince" and later for LAIKA's Costume and Development Department on "Kubo and the Two Strings" and "Missing Link" feature films has deepened this love and added to her arsenal of tricks! She is really looking forward to working with TAIS again and leading this action packed Puppet Building Workshop!
